22.6" Partial Stegosaurus Femur - Colorado

This is a partial, unprepared, fossil stegosaurus femur from the Morrison Formation of Colorado. It is approximately 60%-70% of the bone and is in five main pieces. The largest section is 22.6". The length of the bone when reassembled would be in the range of 40"-45". It has some repairs but is largely unprepared. It is being sold as is and would make a great opportunity to do the preparation yourself. It would also make a nice display of how bones look when they are found. It will arrive with all the field markings and labels still attached.

Stegosaurus is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs in the world due to its distinctive tail spikes and plates along its back. So far, 3 species have been described from the Upper Morrison Formation, and it has been in the news quite a bit lately due to "Sophie" the Stegosaurus at the London Natural History Museum. Stegosaurus is the state fossil of Colorado.
