22" Plate Of Fossil Brittle Stars, Carpoids & Crinoids - Morocco

This is a 22" wide plate of Ordovician aged, fossil echinoderms from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. There are three, large, fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) along with three carpoids and several small crinoids. The fossils are preserved in bright orange limolite due to the oxidization of iron pyrite which originally preserved the fossils. There are a couple of repaired cracks through the rock, but no restoration.

It comes with a metal display stand, or we can add a backing and wall hander upon request for a small, additional cost.
