27" Fossil Fish (Gosiutichthys) Mortality Plate - Wyoming

This is a spectacular, 27 x 18.5" mass mortality plate 100+ fossil fish (Gosiutichthys parvus). It comes from a different location than most of the Green River Fish fossils, representing the ancient Lake Gosiute, not Fossil Lake. The preservation is also quite different compared to the fossil fish found in the Fossil Lake deposits, being a coarse grained mudstone. They are very detailed, with the bony structures, fins and scales easily seen.

There is a repaired crack running diagonally through the corner of the piece. We have backed it to add stability to the rock. It comes with a display stand or we can add a wall hanger upon request.
