3.4" Ordovician Oncoceratid (Zittelloceras) Fossil Plate - Wisconsin

This is a 3.4" wide plate containing Middle Ordovician oncoceratid (Zittelloceras beloitense) fossils from Wisconsin. This fossil is part of an old collection from the Grand Detour Formation in Rock County. The largest oncoceratid fossil measures 1.55" long

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

Oncoceratids are curved nautiloid cephalopods that have been identified from the Middle Ordovician up to the Late Silurian. Richardsonoceras is known for having a stronger convex curvature than other cephalopods in the family Oncoceratidae.
