3.9" Detailed Fossil Leaf (Populus) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a fossil leaf plate from the Green River Formation, Utah. It features a beautiful, 3.9" poplar (Populus cinnamomoides) leaf with nice detail preservation. The genus Populus includes poplars, cottonwoods, and quaking aspens.

While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.
