.37" Ankylosaurian or Nodosaurid Tooth - Judith River

This is a .37" tooth from an indeterminate ankylosaurian or nodosaurid. Not enough diagnostic material has been uncovered and studied in this region to give a definitive identification of this specimen. The tooth is beautifully preserved with a nice shiny enamel surface. There is feeding wear to the grinding surface and the very tip of the tooth has a chip out of it. This is likely a shed tooth. Almost all dinosaur species shed their teeth on a regular basis and grow new ones as they get worn down.
