4.4" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) Fossil With Carpoid - Morocco
This is a 4.4" wide fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. It is associated with a 3.7" long carpoid. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
There is some restoration along a repaired crack through the rock. This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
