.45" Fossil Weevil (AKA Snout Beetle) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a detailed, .45" fossil Weevil often referred to as a Snout Beetle from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. There is a second beetle, likely a different type located right next to it.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
