5.2" Fossil Climbing Fern (Lygodium) - Green River Formation, Utah
This is a 5.2" fossil climbing fern (Lygodium) leaf from the Green River Formation, Utah. It is in very good condition with very detailed preservation. Lygodium is a genus of climbing fern, unique in that each frond forms a long vine.
While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.

A note on Green River leaf identifications. Over 60 described leaf bearing plants have been identified from this formation, many of which have very similar leaves.
