5.2" Miocene Fossil Scallop (Chesapecten) - Virginia
This is a beautiful fossil scallop (Chesapecten nefrens) half that was collected from the Miocene age Calvert Formation in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The surrounding rock has been completely cleaned away from the specimen. This specimen has a few rough edges but is otherwise in excellent condition.
