5.2" Pliocene Fossil Scallop (Pecten) - Florida

This is a fossil scallop (Pecten ochlockoneensis) collected from the Pliocene age Tamiami Formation in Sarasota County, Florida. Both halves of the scallop are naturally held together by the rock they were found in and small marine fossil fragments can be found peppered across the shell.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
