5.6" Detailed Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) - Morocco
This is a large fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It's ordovician in age or approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. There are a couple of repaired cracks in the rock, as well as a partial brittle star.
