5.6" Polished Jurassic Bivalve (Cardinia) Fossil - England
This is an absolutely beautiful, polished bivalve fossil from the Conesby Quarry near Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire, England. It's Lower Jurassic in age, or approximately 200 million years old. The bivalve is of the species Cardinia giganteum and has undergone pyrite and calcite mineral replacement. Only one half of the shell is present.
