6.3" Cut Speetoniceras Ammonite From Russia - With Pyrite

This is a 6.3" wide Speetoniceras versicolor ammonite fossil from the Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Volga River in Russia. It was found in a hard concretion which was cut in half and polished to reveal the inner structure of the animal. There are some interesting pockets of druzy pyrite which have been revealed as well as an agatized fossil clam in cross-section inside of the ammonite. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
