6.4" Miocene Fossil Echinoid (Clypeaster) - Taza, Morocco

This is a giant, 6.4" wide, 3D fossil Echinoid of the genus Clypeaster collected near Taza, Morocco. One edge of this specimen has undergone some restoration.

Animals of the Clypeaster genus are more commonly referred to as "sea biscuits or cake urchins. The genus first appeared in the Late Eocene and survives until today.
