3.4" Fossil Leaf *Davidia" With Fruited Floret - Montana

These are two plant fossils from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of one leaf from the species Davidia antiqua (3.4" long) and a potential Trapa angulata floret with fruits (2.1" at widest). The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes an acrylic display stand.
