This is a 7.3" wide, fossil nautilus (Cymatoceras) from Ambatalafia, Mahajanga Province, Madagascar. The shell has be lightly polished and it has some areas of flashy, red iridescence when viewed from certain angles.

About Nautilus Fossils
autilus is a classic shelled cephalopod with a fossil history spanning more than 500 million years.
