8.1" Starfish (Petraster?) Fossil Multiple Plate - Morocco

This is a 8.1" wide section of rock from the Ordovician aged Tioririne Formation, containing a cluster of three fossil starfish probably of the genus Petraster. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidation of iron.

An edrioasteroid fossil likely of the genus Spinadiscus can be seen on the opposite end of the rock. There is some minor crack repair through one of the starfish where fragments of the rock broke free during collection.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
