8.4" Fossil Horse (Mesohippus) Skull - Nebraska
This is a 8.4" long skull of the primitive horse Mesohippus, collected from the Brule Formation in Sioux County, Nebraska. It is Oligocene in age, or approximately 32 million years old.
Due to natural crushing, the skull is fragmented in spots, with portions of the upper skull missing. About 70% of the skull is present. All of the bone present is natural and unrestored, though most of the specimen has been glue stabilized to prevent crumbling.
Comes with a display stand.
