9.6" Woolly Mammoth Lower M3 Molar - Poland

This is a beautifully preserved woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) molar from the Pleistocene (~40,000 years old) deposits of the Sans River in Poland. This large specimen is consistent with an M3 molar from the right side of the lower jaw of an adult mammoth.

The Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primegenius) is the iconic Pleistocene animal. They had long hair, tusks that extended up to 9 feet, and stood about 12 feet tall. They ranged across the northern hemisphere and were one of the most abundant Pleistocene creatures.
