9.7" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Odontopteris) - France

This is a phenomenal fossil fern (Odontopteris minor) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 9.7" long and is nicely centered on a rectangular-cut, 9.8 x 7" slab of rock.
