This is a 4.2" wide fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The red-orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

There are a couple repaired cracks through the rock/fossil. The darkest leg on the small section of attached rock is from another brittle star. This fossil is a composite.
