Fossil Leaves (Cardiospermum & Monocot) - Green River Formation, Utah
This is a fossil balloon vine (Mimosites coloradensis) leaf and an unidentified monocot leaf collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. The balloon vine leaf measures 1.2" long and exhibits beautiful brown preservation. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.
