6.9 Inch Knightia Fish Fossil On Large Plate
Here is a knightia 6.9 inch Knightia from the Eocene aged Green River Formation of Wyoming. This one comes from the 18 inch layer of the formation which produces much darker colored and detailed fish fossils.
Like essentially ALL fish from the 18 inch layer, there is some minor restoration to repair small bits of scale that flaked off during prep and on some fin tips (which typically don't preserve well)
This specimen is nicely presented on a 15x13 inch, rectangular piece of matrix. I can CUSTOM CUT this matrix down to a smaller size upon request. It's a wonderful, large example of this species of ancient herring from Wyoming.
