Orange Declivolithus & Selenopeltis Trilobite

This is a very cool association of a Trinucleid trilobite Declivolithus and a molt of a Selenopeltis. They are preserved with a bright orange coloration due to the oxidization of iron pyrite that originally preserved them. The Declivolithus is 1.4" long and nicely inflated while the Selenopeltis is 3".

Great preservation of the cephalic pits on the head shield of the Declivolithus. It's unknown the exact purpose of these pits, they could have had sensory purposes or aided in filter feeding.
