Seven Fossil Leaves (Zizyphoides, Beringiaphyllum & Davidia) -Montana

These are seven fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains three Davidia antiqua (5) leaves, three Beringiaphyllum (#30) leaves and one Zizyphoides flabellum (#1) leaf. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where parts of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

The entire specimen measures 13.4 x 6.8" and includes an acrylic display stand.

#1 - Zizyphoides flabellum (2.1" long)
#5 - Davidia antiqua (3.95", 3.8" & 1.9" long)
