Small But Nearly Perfect Asaphus Lepidurus

This is a beautiful example of the Russian asaphid trilobite Asaphus lepidurus. It was quarried near the Wolchow River in Russia at the Putilovo quarry. The preparation on this specimen is beyond words with even the most minute surface details preserved. It is laid out very prone, is well inflated and looks like it is ready to crawl off of the rock. It's small for the species at only 1.65" long but is very nice and only has a tiny bit of shell restoration, maybe 1-2% on the center of the tail.
