Three Fossil Jellyfish (Octomedusa) Pos/Neg - Illinois

This specimen contains three fossil jellyfish (Octomedusa) preserved in an ironstone nodule from the Carbondale Formation near Essex, Illinois. The largest jelly is .4" wide. This specimen shows the bell (body) of the jellyfish; under magnification the arms can be seen. Soft bodied organisms are rare in the fossil record making this specimen a unique addition to any collection.
