Three Fossil Leaves (Davidia & "Zizyphus") - Montana

These are three fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate features two Davidia antiqua leaves and a "Zizyphus" fibrillosus leaves. The largest Davidia leaf is 3.5" wide. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes an acrylic display stand.
