Three Fossil Leaves (Zizyphoides, Beringiaphyllum & Davidia) - Montana

These are three fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains a Davidia antiqua leaf, a Beringiaphyllum leaf and a Zizyphoides flabellum leaf. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaf where some of it flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes an acrylic/metal display stand.

#1 - Zizyphoides flabellum (1.6" wide)
#5 - Davidia antiqua (2.3" wide)
