LUNAR METEORITE - NWA 13974 SPECIMENS
Lunar meteorite NWA 13974 was discovered in 2021 after being acquired from a dealer in Temara, Morocco, and later classified that same year. Recovered from the Western Sahara, the total find weighs roughly 7 kilograms and includes individual stones ranging from just 1 gram to nearly 800 grams. Surface-collected pieces display a glossy brown-black desert varnish with distinctive circular weathering pits, while stones unearthed just below the surface show a pale, whitish exterior. Cut sections reveal a dark gray, brecciated interior—an unmistakable texture shared by genuine lunar meteorites and a striking reminder of this material’s origin on the Moon.
