POLISHED MAHOGANY OBSIDIAN
Mahogany obsidian is a striking natural volcanic glass created when silica-rich lava cools so rapidly that crystals never have a chance to develop, leaving behind a smooth, reflective, glassy texture. Its signature mix of deep black and warm reddish-brown patches comes from finely dispersed hematite or other iron-oxide inclusions that were trapped within the molten rock as it solidified. These iron-rich streaks create the wood-grain patterns that give mahogany obsidian its name and make each piece visually unique.
