Phosphosiderite from Chile is a relatively rare find, known for its vivid purple to pink color and association with the Andes mountains. It's an iron phosphate mineral, sometimes found with yellow streaks of cacoxenite. The specific locality is a small, obscure phosphate mineral locality near Tierra Amarilla, Copiapó Province, Atacama. Phosphosiderite was first discovered in 1858. It was named in 1890 after its main constituents, which are phosphate and iron.
