1.4" Polished Leopard Stone Egg - Mexico
This is a beautiful polished egg carved from a kind of jasper known as leopard stone. The stone displays a unique spotted pattern with yellow, white, and black coloration. It measures 1.4 inches tall and is polished to a glossy finish.
Jasper is an opaque (light doesn't pass through it) variety of chalcedony colored by various impurities within the stone. Leapord skin jasper, or leopard stone, contains orbicular mineral formations that resemble the appearance of leopards skin or fur, hence where it earned its name.
