About Magnesio-Hastingsite
Magnesio-hastingsite (or magnesiohastingsite) is a magnesium-rich calcium amphibole, a type of silicate mineral in the hornblende group. Often it appears green, brownish-green, or black and is named for its magnesium content and relation to hastingsite. Typically it's found in alkaline igneous rocks, often associated with minerals like quartz, orthoclase, plagioclase, biotite, magnetite, and apatite.
