This is a 1.7" long danburite crystal that's partially encrusted in calcite, collected from San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Danburite is a calcium boron silicate mineral that is often found as transparent, colorless crystals. Depending on impurities present, it can also bear tan, grey, white, yellow, brown, orange, and pink coloration, and in some cases can be found encrusted in a layer of druzy quartz. Danburite earned its name from the town it was first described in: Danbury, Connecticut.
