1.7" Lustrous Epidote and Quartz Crystal Cluster - Peru

This is a beautiful epidote and quartz crystal cluster that formed from a pistachio-green matrix. This specimen was collected from Peru, however the specific mine from which it was collected is unknown. Based on the structure of the epidote crystals and the matrix, I'd say it likely came from the Lima Department or Pisco Province of Peru.

It has been mounted to an acrylic display base with mineral tack.

Epidote is a green silicate mineral that is commonly found in regionally metamorphosed rocks. It often forms lustrous, elongated, and interconnected crystals that are highly coveted by collectors. While nearly all epidote is green, it may take on many different shades and tones from yellowish to deep green.
