2.1" Lemon-Yellow Brucite - Balochistan, Pakistan

This beautiful translucent specimen of white and yellow brucite measures 2.1" long, and includes an associations of matrix located along one edge of the specimen. The rich neon yellow color displayed by this crystal aggregation is a good example of the quality of color that these crystals can present.

Brucite, a mineral composed of Mg(OH)2, comes in all ranges of colors depending on locality. Typically it forms in subparallel aggregates of plates, as well as tabular crystals, each of which can be fibrous to elastic in rigidity.
