2.1" Sparkly, Green Prehnite Crystals With Quartz - Morocco
This is a very sparkly, 2.1" wide specimen of light-green prehnite crystals on quartz. The prehnite crystals form radiant clusters, with their terminations covering the top of the piece. There is a small cluster of quartz crystals near the edge of the piece.
Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate with the chemical composition Ca2Al(AlSi3O10)(OH)2. It generally occurs as volcanic cavity infillings. It often displays colors between yellow and green, but colorless and blue specimens are not unheard of.
