2.55" Carved "Leopard Rock" Turtle - Wyoming

This is a beautiful piece of "leopard rock" from the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming, that has been polished into a turtle shape. This specimen measures 2.55 inches wide and its glossy polish allows the crystal formations to really stand out.

Plagioclase phenocrysts are large, conspicuous crystals of plagioclase feldspar that stand out against the finer-grained/glassy matrix (groundmass) of an igneous rock.
