This is a 3.85" wide polished prehnite sphere, collected from Wave Hill, Australia. There is a pocket that runs through the middle of this sphere, showing off the natural crystal terminations of the prehnite. A truly spectacular sphere specimen!

Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate with the chemical composition Ca2Al(AlSi3O10)(OH)2. It generally occurs as volcanic cavity infillings. It often displays colors between yellow and green, but colorless and blue specimens are not unheard of.
