3" Realistic "Yellow Turquoise" Jasper Skull - Magnetic
This is a beautiful, polished stone skull carved from yellow turquoise jasper collected in China. It measures 3" long from front to back. The craftsmanship is very nice, with realistic proportions and a high level of detail. The magnetite (darker areas of the stone) is magnetic.
"Yellow turquoise" is a trade name for this unique type of jasper, which ranges in color from yellow to lime, with natural inclusions of dark gray magnetite. This trade name is rather deceptive, since the stone is not only not turquoise (the mineral) but is also not turquoise (the color). Nevertheless, it is a very interesting and attractive stone, particularly when polished.
