4.1" Polished Dendritic Opal Section - Western Australia

This is a beautiful section of "moss opal" containing small, black dendritic inclusions. It earns its more common name, "dendritic opal" from these small black inclusions. This form of opal comes from the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. It's known to occur near the towns of Kalgoorlie, Leonora, and Norseman.

One side of the specimen has been cut flat and polished to a glossy finish. The bottom has been cut flat to allow it to stand nicely on its own.
