4.4" Polished Blue Cleavelandite Section - Western Australia
This is a 4.4" wide, polished section of cleavelandite collected from an area near Norseman, Western Australia. One side has been polished to a glossy finish, with the remainder left in its natural state. This section stands nicely on its own, but we have provided an acrylic display stand for stability.
About Australian Blue Cleavelandite
Blue cleavelandite is a rare, pale blue variety of albite feldspar found in lithium-rich pegmatites. Polished cleavelandite from Western Australia features the characteristic, often white-to-bluish, tabular, and radiating platy crystal formations of sodic feldspar, frequently found in pegmatite environments. While much of the world's commercial, high-quality cleavelandite specimens come from Brazil or Pakistan, Western Australia has weathered and less common occurrences.
It often appears in association with purple lepidolite, quartz, petalite, and pollucite, creating highly sought-after, colorful specimen pieces.
General chemical formula - Na(AlSi3O8)
