This is a stunning, 5.05" wide, polished section of chrome chalcedony, collected near the town of Newman in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. One side has been polished to a glossy finish, and the rest has been left in its natural state.

About Chrome Chalcedony
Chrome chalcedony is a variety of chalcedony that gains its green color from trace amounts of chromium. Depending on where it comes from, it may have different names. Specimens from Australia are called chrome chalcedony, from Zimbabwe its known as "mtorolite" and specimens from Bolivia are often referred to as "chiquitanita". Chrome chalcedony is similar to chrysoprase, but chrysoprase earns its color from trace amounts of nickel as opposed to chrome chalcedony's chromium.
