5.2" Polished Green Prehnite Section - Australia
This is a 5.2" wide polished prehnite section, collected from Wave Hill, Australia. The "back side" has been left in its rough natural state, however the "front" has been cut and polished. The polishing reveals the beautiful prehnite formation and the mottled mixture of colors.

Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate with the chemical composition Ca2Al(AlSi3O10)(OH)2. It generally occurs as volcanic cavity infillings. It often displays colors between yellow and green, but colorless and blue specimens are not unheard of.
