This is a 5.3" wide polished spherulitic rhyolite section, collected from Mexico. Rhyolite (Bird's Eye jasper) is a group of extrusive igneous rocks, typically consisting of large-grained crystals such as feldspar or quartz dispersed in a fine-grained silica-rich rock.
