Thick, Tabular Blue Barite Crystals on Pyrite - Morocco

This specimen contains one giant tabular blue barite crystal, surrounded by blue-green barite crystals of all sizes in between. Bladed clusters and flower-like barite projections enshroud a heavy pyrite matrix that holds the specimens brilliant crystals together. Parallel gaps between large tabular crystal remains indicate that this may have originally been a part of an aggregation of gigantic barite crystals. The largest crystal on this specimen is 3.6" long.
