1.1" Fossil Mimosite Leaf with Beetle - Green River Formation

This is a fossil mimosite (Mimosites coloradensis) leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. It measures 1.1" long and is located alongside a beautifully detailed beetle (order Coleoptera) fossil measuring .5" long. The plate itself measures 3.4 x 2.4".

While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
