1.2" Fossil Pycnodont Fish Crushing Mouth Plate - Goulmima, Morocco

This is a 1.2" long, crushing, mouth plate of an unidentified Pycnodont fish. It was collected from the Upper Cretaceous (Early Turonian) aged Akrabou Formation near Goulmima, Morocco. Pycnodontiformes had a superficial resemblance to angelfish and had a mouthful of knobby teeth that it used to crush its food.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
